Newsom Fiat: No California Protest Can Have More Than 100 People

Regressive Supreme Leader Gavin Newsom is angry.  On Saturday more than 2,000 showed up at the Capitol to protest his dictatorship, issuing 40 Executive Orders and changing close to 200 State laws, without a vote of the Legislature or even telling them in advance.  He signed over 400 NO BID contracts—some for firms owned by the Chinese Communist Party.  People are angry—so they protest.

Now, in the name of “safety and health”, Newsom has issued another illegal edict—no protest can have more than 100 people.  Watch as that edict is violated in every corner of the State.  This is no different than what the Chinese Communist Party is doing to the people of Hong Kong.  No, I am not accusing Newsom as being a communist—I am noting he is using their tactics to control the population.

“The agency “recommended” that protesters use “alternative” channels such as online and broadcasting platforms.

Under the new restrictions, attendance at a protest is limited to 25 percent of the area’s maximum occupancy or capped at 100 attendees, whichever is lower.

The restrictions also say physical distancing of 6 feet between attendees coming from different households will be enforced at all times. Failure to abide by this rule, the department said, “may result in an order to disperse or other enforcement action.”

Unless the people use their First Amendments rights, they will continue to be taken from us—right to assembly, right to free speech, freedom of religion—all gone.  Even the Legislature, per the Governors new budget loses most of its rights to participate in the governance of California.  Obviously, Newsom is not watching re-runs of Seinfeld, he is studying the Chinese method of government.

Newsom guidelines say Californians can protest — under these restrictions

By Bradford Betz | Fox News, 5/26/20

‘They are using coronavirus to upend safeguards to election integrity,’ says RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel discussing the GOP suing Gavin Newsom for his vote-by-mail executive order

California health officials on Tuesday released new criteria for political protest, restricting, among other things, the number of attendees at a demonstration.

The new restrictions come as the state has slowly begun to reopen its economy in at least 47 of its 58 counties. But frustration remains among many over the shutdown’s impact on businesses and workers.

California’s Department of Public Health said in-person protests are still allowed to take place, but stressed that they carry “a higher risk of widespread transmission of COVID-19” and encouraged participants to wear face masks at all times.

The agency “recommended” that protesters use “alternative” channels such as online and broadcasting platforms.

The new limitations went into effect Monday and will be reviewed every three weeks. Each review will assess the impact of these restrictions on public health and “provide further direction as part of a phased-in restoration of gatherings that implicate the First Amendment,” the department said.

The Republican leadership in California now has a golden opportunity to lead California back to common sense and away form Socialism. The question is will they pounce on this opportunity? If we had a Republican Governor announcing these edits, the Democratic leadership would think they died and went to Heaven.

The CA -GOP is MIA.. They are ALL Never Trumpers and have plastic for spines. Half them agree with newsom The other half are afraid to leave the house.. Don’t wait for them for leadership. We the People must lead and they will follow.

      • http://www.cottaforassembly.com I am running in the 32nd, against a democrat, and I will do my best to beat him and yell at the top of my lungs from Sacramento every time the dems act out. I am a 20 year Law Enforcement veteran and I will not be bullied by Dems.

Problem is the CA GOP is not helping to fund our campaigns to beat these dems. So fund raising is almost impossible.

I will still work hard to get 32 back

  2. Concerned says

Time to impeach Newsom, and I agree with Rico. Anybody know of efforts to find Newsom’s Republican replacement?

  3. Marie Roberson says

First off there was about 5000 people there.

  4. Really??? says

Dictator Slick, and why are you not gathering 300-400 to tell the Dem’s to pound sand?

Because the State Republican Party is afraid of its own shadow.

  5. Otis Needleman says

    He’s just asking for trouble.

  6. John Steele says

Sorry Gel Hair My 1st Amendment rights say a lot differently.. Try to enforce it.. We will resist..

  7. “No, I am not accusing Newsom as being a communist—” And why not? That’s not a rhetorical question. That is, if the shoe fits, why doesn’t Mr. Newsom lace that puppy up and walk around wearing it? I strongly suggest that the author read the Communist Manifesto and then tell me how it digresses from the platform of the Democratic Party.

So long as we as a society tip toe around the matter, refusing to call a spade a spade, or in this instance a hammer and sickle, our political structure will continue its march to PROGRESSIVELY become communist. Heretofore, anyone of whom might dare say it is quickly deemed a nut case, a wearer of tin foil, and the like.

My name is Timothy B Morgan, and I am accusing Gavin Newsom, along with his fellow travelers of being communists, because that’s exactly what they are. There now, that wasn’t so difficult, now was it?

  8. Sorry, unconstitutional. Newsom does not have any authority to abridge or alter the Constitution, specifically the Bill of Rights. We have the inalienable right to protest the government in any number we see fit. Stop obeying these racists! Demand to see the citation or law that gives them the authority to make such demands. Hint: there are none.

  9. candle in a hurricane says

Dianne Feinstein and Nancy Pelsoi sold California to the Chinese Communist decades ago. You are just now seeing their end game. No election can save you…Your move Californians….

  10. Barry Johnson says

COMMUNISM IS LIVE IN CALIFORNIA!!!! And with the help of the Left Media, NO-ONE WILL FIND OUT TILL TOO LATE!! I am gone for sure, ARIZONA HERE I COME!!

  11. You are all wrong. It is Pretty Boy Supreme Leader Newsom. Let’s get the terminology correct.

    • Really??? says

*laugh* It must be the metro-sexual influence of San Francisco.

    • Cycleman says

There’s nothing pretty about him he just looks like a used car salesman, I think the simple term asshole would be fitting.

      • Please don’t degrade used car salesmen by comparing them to Newsome. Asshole regressive communist is a more fitting description of the snowflake Newsome. His day/time is coming.

  12. What I have learned is people will willingly give up their most treasured rights quickly. it is the FIRST Amendment right for a reason, this was the most important right and we lost it in a matter of weeks and very few people seem to care. This is not the America I grew up in, we are no longer the same free country. We gave up all these rights to lower the risk of getting a virus.

  13. It’s time to rise up and put the fear of God in those who presumed to be called our leaders.
    It is the American way.

  14. Otis Needleman says

Have thought about this. Believe Newsom is doing this in the hope of provoking violence. Then he can extend the state’s house arrest indefinitely. Have reported him to the Department of Justice. Everyone needs to do the same. Nobody in CA can help, but the Feds may be able to. Use the “Contact” tab at the DOJ website at http://www.justice.gov .

  15. Action to limit protest group to 100 may be found reasonable if appealed to our Democratic appellate and Supreme Court. However, taking this action after 5000 people showed up at a rally could pique the interest of the U.S. Supreme Court as an obvious violation of the First Amendment. Trouble is, it takes so long to get a case from the lowest appellate courts in California up to the U.S. Supremes, Newsom will already be President.

  16. Charles C. says

It’s too bad they don’t have that order in Minneapolis.

  17. Rottweiler says

I bet he has his beautician come to his house to cut and groom his fabulous hair do not to mention that mani-pedi. What is good for the goose obviously is not good for us ganders. We the ganders put this nut job in office. Of course I would never vote this sleaze bag into office. Just look at the state he left San Francisco in. That right there should tell you how dumb progressive voters are. He wants small business owners to go down that way he can tout big government. I notice all of the government workers are not out of work. Could be that powerful and corrupt Democratic work horse called SEIU.

  18. It’s safe to say Gavin has lost the surfer vote..

  19. MicahStone says

The First Amendment of the Bill of Rights provides that “Congress shall make no law … abridging … the right of the people peaceably to assemble.”

  20. APACHERAT says

Obvious Black Lives Matters (BLM) decided they were above Gavin Newsom’s laws while 500 protesters demonstrated and smashed the windows on CHP cars in downtown Los Angeles yesterday afternoon.

Looks like the CHP and LAPD are not going to enforce Newsom’s totalitarian laws.

  21. Stephanie says

Newsom’s gotta go. Unfortunately the GOP in CA is completely useless to fight him. They would not even get behind the last recall effort. Now they say that Kevin Faulkner in San Diego will run against him. What a weak, pathetic candidate that will be. He’s just about as bad as Newsom. We need to get a strong, independent to run. A populist candidate.

  22. Evidently,
Newsom is not counting the rioting mobs in LA, but only the people who display peaceful citizenship by questioning his draconian orders, perhaps if they should turn into a mob by looting and destroying business and property he won’t bat an eyelash, just use the coward’s way out.

  23. Cycleman says

In Southern California Assembly Woman Marie Waldron (so-called Republican) was recently elected, but she’s already spouting Gavin Newsom’s liberal talking points about the coronavirus and bailing out California.

California voters have sent politicians in the state a bad message – if you just scare everybody, then we can do whatever we want and erase your rights.

Fear is the language of slaves and in California most people are slaves.

  24. JLSeagull says

A-hole Nuisance is so full of s**t that he could fill a manure spreader with one burp.

  25. Kathleen Ross says

NOW IT IS TIME TO DOUBLE DOWN ON HOW MANY PROTESTERS SHOW UP IN SACRAMENTO. WE NEED THOUSANDS MORE TO PROTEST. WE NEED EVERY PERSON IN THIS STATE TO DO THEIR PART. STAND UP AND TAKE BACK OUR STATE!

  26. Myke Carrr says

Very Cowardly of Newsom. He is upset that local Police Chiefs and Sheriffs are not supporting his dislike for assemblies at the State Capitol. Police Chiefs don’t have to move people off the streets if they chose not to. So what he has done is create these new bogus laws original limiting free speech events over 100 People. So now he wants local police to do HIS dirty work under the auspices of Covid. He is such a slim bag!!!!!

  27. Rottweiler says

THE ANTIFA DEMOCRATS WERE NOT PRACTICING NEWSOM AND GARCETTI’S SOCIAL DISTANCING WHEN PROTESTING IN THEIR VIOLENT MESSAGE. THEY DID HOWEVER, BURN INNOCENT BUSINESSES ALL ON ACCOUNT THAT THE LOSER LEADERSHIP IS SO INEPT THEY HAVEN’T FIGURED OUT WE ARE OUT-MANNED AND OUT GUNNED. IF I WERE A POLICE OR LAW ENFORCEMENT I WOULD GO HOME FOR ONE WEEK, IN FACT, THEY ALL SHOULD. LEAVE THESE PROGRESSIVE BASTARDS TO OFF THEMSELVES.

  28. Nusance needs to change his name to numbnutz……………any wonder why he can’t be taken seriously and needs to be constantly watched????
