The courts today ruled again against an Orange County appeal claiming President Barack Obama holds office illegitimately because he was not born in Hawaii as he claims.
The twist this time is that it wasn’t Laguna Niguel lawyer and potential Senate candidate Orly Taitz who was leading the charge in case, which was rejected today by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Rather, it was Baptist preacher Wiley Drake who was told he didn’t have standing to bring the suit – the same determination made by U.S. District Judge David Carter, although with different reasoning. Taitz and Drake, whose church is in Buena Park, were initially working together on the lawsuit, but quickly had a falling out when Drake took issue with the lawyer’s competency. You can read about that here.
