From U-T San Diego:
Rep. Brian Bilbray’s odds of catching Scott Peters got longer Friday when the county registrar reported him trailing the Democratic challenger by 1,334 votes.
Peters’ lead was 814 when the counting stopped Thursday.
The San Diego Port commissioner and former city councilman is acting as if the race for the 52nd Congressional District seat is over — he’ll be in Washington starting Monday for new member orientation and meetings with party leaders.
