The drive to recall Mayor Bob Filner began in earnest Monday as the beleaguered politician made a formal request for taxpayers to pick up the tab for his legal fees stemming from a sexual harassment lawsuit.
There doesn’t appear to be any end in sight to the daily developments on the Filner front even though the mayor has tried to keep a low profile since announcing Friday that he’ll undergo intensive therapy rather than resign in response allegations of unwanted sexual advances by seven women.
