Dodgers Announce ‘Christian Faith and Family Day’ Amid Pride Night Controversy–Continue Hate Christians Night

I am embarrassed for a great pitcher, Clayton Kershaw.  He is one of the stars of professional baseball—and an active Christian.  How does he explain working for an organization that promotes hate against him and his religion?  Adding a Christian Family Faith night does not take away from the vile hate of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Sam Britton, the hate Catholic symbolism and rhetoric.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

““Excited to announce the relaunch of Christian Faith and Family Day at Dodger Stadium on July 30th,” Kershaw tweeted. “More details to come— but we are grateful for the opportunity to talk about Jesus and determined to make it bigger and better than it was before COVID. Hope to see you on July 30th!”

“Join us at Dodger Stadium on 7/30 for Christian Faith and Family Day. Stay after the game to celebrate and be part of a day of worship. Stay tuned for more details,” the team’s official account tweeted.

Maybe on the field Kershaw and the Dodgers should return to baseball.  If they want to hate Christians they can go, in their off time, to a KKK rally or a Democrat meeting.  Return sports to entertainment and keep the hate out of the Park.

Dodgers Announce ‘Christian Faith and Family Day’ Amid Pride Night Controversy

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw announced on Friday the team would relaunch its Christian Faith and Family Day, just days after the organization re-invited the radical anti-Christian transgender group, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, to its tenth annual Pride Night event.

“Excited to announce the relaunch of Christian Faith and Family Day at Dodger Stadium on July 30th,” Kershaw tweeted.

The Dodgers were surrounded by controversy this week after the team announced it would re-invite the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to be honored on Pride Night on June 16.

After receiving backlash from religious groups, the Dodgers rescinded an invitation to the radical anti-Christian organization. However, the Dodgers walked back its decision and announced Monday that the drag queen group would be re-invited to the team’s Pride Night.

The Dodgers offered its “sincerest apologies to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and their friends and families,” in a statement issued after the announcement.

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles criticized the team’s reversal the day after its announcement, saying in a statement:

The decision to honor a group that clearly mocks the Catholic faith and makes light of the sincere and holy vocations of our women religious who are an integral part of our Church is what has caused disappointment, concern, anger, and dismay from our Catholic community. The Archdiocese calls on all Catholics and people of goodwill to stand against bigotry and hate in any form and to stand for respect for one another and for the religious beliefs of our communities of faith.

In the replies to Kershaw’s tweet announcing Christian Faith and Family Day, social media users called on Kershaw, a vocal Christian, to denounce the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and his team’s decision to re-invite them to Pride Night.

“Glad this is coming back but you gotta speak out against @SFSisters openly mocking Christ,” one user replied. “This Christian event, which has no involvement prior to the game or during, will not fix the wrongs your team has done.”

“How can we take this seriously when the team is allowing another group to be so completely nasty towards Christians?” another user asked.

“Clayton, the Dodgers are elevating a group on June 16th that is hateful and intolerant to people of faith,” pastor Paul Chappell noted. “My family and the ministries I lead cannot support the Dodgers if they support this hate. Tolerance is preached but apparently not practiced by the Dodgers.”

The Dodgers have not held a Christian Faith and Family Day since 2019.

What you have written is very well stated on all counts. The transgender movement in particular has become symptomatic of a contagion that has overtaken us. I completely agree with you. There is only XX and XY and the rest of it is just a lie designed to get us to buy into a fantasy of sick minds because we have become too tolerant.

I’m a busy guy with work and family, but I definitely found time to write the dodgers management Erik Braverman on this issue. The message the Dodgers are putting out is that it’s okay to denigrate and bash the majority but not appropriate to put the brakes on a infinitesimal minority that is denigrating the majority. This mentality is closely related to concept that only whites are racist and blacks cannot be racist.. My message to Erik is one that is reiterated here, just play baseball and stop your silly social engineering.

A sin isn’t forgiven by false penance! Your Public Relations team has to have some loose marbles in their collective craniums.

I called one of the radio stations that carry the Dodgers’ games. KSCO, in Riverside County. I left a message for the programming director. I asked them to not air the game the night the dodgers commit their blasphemy agaisnt the Catholic Church and Christianity. A couple of the affiliate stations are Spanish language stations. I hope thjey censor the games too.

I bet many of the dodger players, especially those of Hispanic culture are Catholics. Are the dodgers going to ban the Sign of the Cross when a player goes to bat and then hits a home run, again thanking his Maker?
Tommy Lasagne wouldn’t have gone for this garbage!

Just another reason I have nothing to do with pro sports at all anymore.

  6. Just running-scared face-saving. Not a serious move at all.

Had planned to take the grandkids to half a dozen or so Dodger games this summer.

We’re going to go watch the Angels instead.

  7. This pushing of Godless behavior in the sports arena is designed to eventually get rid of sports altogether…the PTB know exactly what they’re doing

  8. This and the diatribe given by the mayor of Anaheim are TOTALLY uncalled for. I am boycotting BOTH Angels AND the Dodgers
