As reported by the Fresno Bee:
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Assemblyman Travis Allen is the sixth candidate — and second Republican — to jump into California’s 2018 gubernatorial contest.
The candidates hoping to replace Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown are:
—Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat. Newsom announced his bid to succeed Brown early, in 2015. He was elected lieutenant governor in 2010 after serving as San Francisco’s mayor.
—Antonio Villaraigosa, a Democrat. Villaraigosa is a former mayor of Los Angeles, the first Latino to hold the post in more than a century.
—State Treasurer John Chiang, a Democrat. Chiang serves as the state treasurer and would be California’s first Asian-American governor.
—Delaine Eastin, a Democrat. Eastin is the former state superintendent of public instruction, leading California’s public school system from 1995 to 2003.
—John Cox, a Republican. Cox is a San Diego-based businessman with experience in real estate management and investment firms. He’s already dumped $3 million of his own money into the race. He previously made an unsuccessful run for Congress in Illinois.
—Travis Allen, a Republican. Allen is a three-term assemblyman from Huntington Beach. He’s heading a ballot initiative to repeal a gas tax increase passed by mostly Democratic lawmakers earlier this year.
He has my vote!
Glad to see that Allen is in the race. The last thing this state needs in another Democrat governor or a carpetbagger from Illinois.
California vote system is so much rig I would be surprise to see a Republican winning .then again many of these republicans in name only hater out great President Donal j trump
This is wonderful news. Our current leaders in this state have been governing against the will of the people for some time and it is actually someone like Travis Allen who speaks for the majority of Californians.
March 2017:
“California Assemblyman Travis Allen asks: ‘Where does it end?'”
Travis Allen is fantastic! He’s a true fighter, a gifted speaker and a real conservative who was motivated to get into politics because he saw his beloved state and country going down the tubes. Republicans couldn’t have a better standard-bearer; we need to unite behind him, send him as much as we can, volunteer for his campaign and get Republicans off their butts and into the voting booth! There are plenty of them in this state (over 4,400,000 of them voted for Trump) to get him elected. Let’s do it!
I’m glad to see there is a republican in the race. I hope the two top vote getters in the primary don’t end up on the November ballot. I hope Antonio Sabatto Jr. wins and I hope Maxine Waters looses. We need new politicians. Drain the swamp.
How can a Republican even dream of a win in California When we have wall-to-wall non-citizen voters?
